Meet the Governors
Mr Paul Broadwater
Parent Governor (St Cleer).
Committees: Chair of Curriculum. Responsibilities: data.
Term of office: 18-09-15 to 17-09-19.
Hello! My name is Paul Broadwater and I am really happy to be a Parent Governor of St Cleer and Blisland Primary Schools. As a father of two pupils at St Cleer and a big fan of the excellent work being carried out at both schools, I hope to use my thirteen years of experience as a secondary school teacher to help support both staff and pupils in their efforts to succeed.
Mrs Jo Clark
Committees: Curriculum; Finance/Buildings. Responsibilities: Data. Term of office: 11-03-14 to 10-03-18.
My husband and I have lived in the village of St Cleer for 31 years and both our boys went to St Cleer School. I have been involved with the school for most of that time: as a parent, a governor, a teaching assistant and finally as a teacher. I love teaching, and particularly enjoy watching the children grow in confidence and creativity.
Mr James Edwards
Local Authority Governor
Committee: curriculum. Term of office: 08-12-16 to 07-12-20.
My name is Jimmy Edwards and I am a secondary school teacher who is Head of Computer Science, ICT and Business Studies. I have worked in education for 10 years and have 2 children who currently attend St Cleer School. I am looking forward to contributing to the current success of St Cleer and Blisland in my role as a Governor. I am very passionate about education and how new innovative technologies can help aid in students learning and progression.
Co-opted Governor and Head of School at Blisland.email@example.com
Committees: Curriculum, Finance/Buildings. Responsibilities: PE; Sports Premium. Term of office 07-07-15 to 06-07-19.
Originally from Nottingham, I moved down to Cornwall in 2003 with my wife, Lauren. I taught for many years in Liskeard - which I enjoyed a great deal - becoming Head of School at Blisland in September 2015. I live on the North Coast of Cornwall with my wife and two sons. As a family we enjoy surfing, cycling, coastal walks and spending as much time in the outdoors as possible. I believe that education should be child led. Children are naturally inquisitive and at Blisland we encourage children to ask questions and investigate new and interesting things. This ensures that the children are interested in what they are doing and therefore learning is something they want to do.
Miss Hannah Godfrey
Committees: Curriculum, Finance & Buildings. Term of office: 04-09-16 to 03-09-20.
I attended Bodmin College to complete A-levels and was fortunate enough have a placement at Blisland Primary School. I am now in the second year of my Psychology degree at Plymouth University. When I have time off from University and part-time work I enjoy volunteering at Blisland school and hope to eventually train as an Educational Psychologist. I am very excited to be a Governor for both Blisland and St.Cleer and hope to be able to positively contribute to the school environments.
Mrs Helen Green
Committees: Chair of Personnel; Curriculum. Term of office: 10-03-16 to 09-03-20. Responsibilities: SEN, music.
Helen has a daughter and twin sons who attend Blisland CP School. She has been a secondary school teacher for 15 years, starting out as a peripatetic woodwind teacher, then as a classroom music teacher, and now as a Special Needs teacher and Deputy SENCO. Helen loves reading about new and exciting educational developments (a self-confessed geek!) and is currently in the final year of her Master's degree.
Mrs Yvette Hayward
Chair of Governors, Co-opted Governor.
Responsibilities: Confidential Reporting/Whistleblowing, Complaints.
Committees: Curriculum; Finance & Buildings.
Term of office: 03-09-16 - 02-09-20.
It is a joy to be part of St Cleer and Blisland Schools. With a professional background in financial services, I became a school governor in 2010 when my son joined the reception class at St Cleer School. I was part of the team creating the federation with Blisland School, and delighted to go on and join the governing board of the new federation. I believe both our schools provide an amazing environment where children thrive and are dedicated to maintaining this.

Mrs Hayley Stacey

Hello. My Name is Hayley Stacey and I currently have one child at St Cleer school. I am a self employed animal portrait artist and freelance photographer. My creative side has always complemented my love of animals and the outdoors and after an early career in British Eventing and training competition horses I am currently studying to become a riding coach. As well as my horses I have a passion for running. I run and race with the East Cornwall Harriers and I currently help with the school's cross country running club with my husband. I believe that incorporating sport within education will not just improve a child's physical health but have a positive effect on their learning in all areas.
